Today's painting was made near the river Waal, in the city of Nijmegen, Holland. The house is in quite a desolate state; a perfect house to paint. These old houses are often bought by project developers nowadays, because housing prices in Holland have been skyrocketing in recent years. The houses are then often let to students until they are renovated and sold. What struck me in this scene was the blue sunlit shirt of the girl, studying in her backyard.
